What is Site Council?
Sequoya's Site Council is a group of teachers, parents and administrative staff that participate in the decision making process at Sequoya. This process enables effective school improvement by allowing site based shared decision making to be an inclusionary process in which the people who effect and are affected by significant decisions participate in making those decisions.
Overseeing the Site Improvement Plan and approval of tax credit expenditures are two tasks the council has taken part in over the last few years. Sequoya tax credit money has recently been used to fund educational assemblies, field trips, and after-school programs such as Homework Haven, Math Challenge, and an Art Enrichment program.
